It really annoys me that Eric Northman’s name is not spelled Erik.

I want to direct every man (person!) who thinks feminism isn’t necessary to this article.
sometimes I sit in my room, topless, eating ice pops, and it’s for practicality (I am that 1 year old who cannot eat without ruining an outfit) and not to turn anyone on.
One of my favorite things about my fav book The Dud Avocado, is that, for most of the book the main (female) character has no real love interests.
And, just, especially as a woman who has lived most of her life without substantial romantic relationships with men, I really appreciate stories about women that don’t revolve around the love story.
We need to tell more stories like this.
There are these people, who do a million artsy things well. Sometimes you hear about famous people like this: Sufjan Stevens, Matthew Gray Gubler. People who act or make music but also write poetry and make art and knit and play 20 instruments.
I want to be one of those people. I want to actually do all the things I think about doing.
We do a much greater disservice to girls, because we raise them to cater to the fragile egos of men. We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller. We say to girls: ‘You can have ambition, but not too much. You should aim to be successful, but not too successful, otherwise you will threaten the man. If you are the breadwinner in your relationship with a man, you have to pretend that you’re not, especially in public otherwise you will ‘emasculate’ him.’
But what if we questioned the premise itself— why should a woman’s success be a threat to a man? What if we decide to simply dispose of that word? And I don’t think there’s an English word I despise more than ‘emasculation.’

It was longer in the back, but it also had been significantly longer & had broken off over time, all of which is a major part of why I cut it.
Also, it feels a lot shorter to me because I never cut my hair & I have hair attachement issues. Don’t you know every centimeter of hair = 1,000 mermaid tears?
(Not saying this isn’t often true for “self-made” white, straight, cis women too, but)
I can’t deal with heterosexual, cis, “self-made” white men who use their class movement as evidence that everyone else who is poor is lazy, who are totally blind to allll the privilege they have just because they had a working class upbringing.
things to fight, always.
1. resentment.
2. disrespect (of others, and of yourself.)
3. apathy.
4. disorganisation.
5. self-doubt.
6. jealousy.
yes! my username is JuliaLW.
What I really love about Beyonce is that some of her songs are like “stupid boy, you didn’t appreciate me, buh bye, don’t need ya” but others are about how in love she is with someone.
The ability to be a badass bitch when necessary but also not shy away from love/feelings/vulnerability is really fucking admirable.
